How Art Has Touched My Life - Karin
Karin is a resident at Arden Courts of Potomac, a memory care community. Her painting featured above, and in HCR ManorCare’s upcoming 2016 Heart of Art calendar, is titled “Docked at Tilghman Island.”
“I paint because I like to do something that makes me feel good. I don't do it for the money- I don’t really want to sell everything. I want everyone to enjoy it.”
Karin emigrated from Germany to the U.S. in 1955. She took up painting after visiting the National Gallery of Art, where she was inspired by the works of the Jewish-Italian painter Amedeo Modigliani. Karin is a featured artist and member of Potomac Artists in Touch (PAinT), a diverse group of local artist dedicated to cultivating the visual arts in the Potomac, Maryland community. She has worked mostly in oils. Her style includes impressionistic, expressionistic and abstract art, representing figures, still life and landscapes.
